DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to host this celebration of wilderness through poetry and art performance! \nFunded by the Dept of Culture \nHaiku workshop & performances led by Gilles Fabre (Fr) haikuspirit \nFollowing the successful inaugural seashores Haiku Festival in Dublin last 11 July\, I am very pleased to let you know that the next seashores Haiku Event will take place at the Mud Island Community Garden next 29 August\, and will include three activities: \n1745-1830 A guided haiku-walk (ginko)\n1845-2000 Haiku Workshop (kukai).\n2015-2045 Seashells game (haiku duels inspired by Matsuo Bashō’s kai game). \nYou may participate in any of the three activities. \n

DESCRIPTION:We are celebrating the change of seasons and the harvest time with these followed by a shared picnic (weather permitting). \n5:00 6:00 Workshop/Song Circle 2: ‘Songs of Birds and Nature’ \nThis open event and workshop welcomes participants to listen to a\ncollection of songs performed by Siobhán Kavanagh inspired by\nsongs of birds and nature. Siobhán will teach song but also ‘open up\nthe floor’ to participants to share a song\, a story or a poem. This\ntraditional and folk song circle warmly welcomes songs in any\nlanguage. \n6:00 7:00 The Secret Jazz Band – a collaboration between the two might happen… If you want to join in\, get ready! \nThe Secret Jazz Band comprise of seasoned musicians based in Dublin that\noriginally met as members of the Gardiner Street Gospel Choir band. The jazz band\nregularly play in Dublin and collaborate with singers and other musicians and will\nperform a mix of popular gospel-infused jazz\, soul and funk tunes. \n \nEvent as part of the Summer Festival funding from the Department of Culture\, Communications and Sport. We are also grateful for the support received by NEIC! We could not exist without them!
