Féile Na Láibe / Mudstock Festival

Hello!

This weekend come along to Mudisland Community Garden for our first ever Féile Na Láibe. It is free to attend and packed with music, stories, stalls, food, drink and entertainment as Bearla & Gaeilge!

Musical entertainment is provided by DJ Gav from Solar Sound, Ceoltóirí Chluain Tarbh, Mud island Céilí Band, The Tolka Hot Club Band and more! Discover and support local artists and businesses.

Saturday 2nd of December

Caravan stage:

3 pm intro and part 1 of story, singer on stage.

3.30 part 2 of story dancer on stage.

4 pm part 3 of story musicians on stage .

5.15 fire show

GAA demo / arts & crafts for kiddos / bric a brac

Thanks to #Forasnagaeilge, we have some goodies to give away, we also will be making some soup so bring your own brown bread to share!

Sunday 3rd of December

12-5pm Market stalls with delicious food and beverages to buy for our garden fundraiser!

The Tolka Hot Club Band will be performing at the market and we’ll finish of the weekend with DJ Gav from Solar Sound!

March will be a great month for the garden!

Friday 24th in the morning – free event with Dermot and planting potatoes – all you ever wanted to know about growing spuds!

Saturday 25th – all day extravaganza with the Five Lamps Arts Festival & our annual spring Fair!

Sunday 26th sees the launch of our #RepairCafé! (More on this later).

Rather Gather FESTIVALITO

The fantastic Rather Gather will be back in Mudisland for their annual extravaganza!

More details of this entertaining annual event will be circulated as soon as we know them!

Haiku event

We are delighted to host this celebration of wilderness through poetry and art performance!

Haiku workshop & performances led by Gilles Fabre (Fr) haikuspirit

Following the successful inaugural seashores Haiku Festival in Dublin last 11 July, I am very pleased to let you know that the next seashores Haiku Event will take place at the Mud Island Community Garden next 29 August, and will include three activities:

1745-1830 A guided haiku-walk (ginko)
1845-2000 Haiku Workshop (kukai).
2015-2045 Seashells game (haiku duels inspired by Matsuo Bashō’s kai game).

You may participate in any of the three activities.

 

Harvest Festival

We are celebrating the change of seasons and the harvest time with these followed by a shared picnic (weather permitting).

5:00 6:00 Workshop/Song Circle 2: ‘Songs of Birds and Nature’

This open event and workshop welcomes participants to listen to a
collection of songs performed by Siobhán Kavanagh inspired by
songs of birds and nature. Siobhán will teach song but also ‘open up
the floor’ to participants to share a song, a story or a poem. This
traditional and folk song circle warmly welcomes songs in any
language.

6:00 7:00 The Secret Jazz Band – a collaboration between the two might happen… If you want to join in, get ready!

The Secret Jazz Band comprise of seasoned musicians based in Dublin that
originally met as members of the Gardiner Street Gospel Choir band. The jazz band
regularly play in Dublin and collaborate with singers and other musicians and will
perform a mix of popular gospel-infused jazz, soul and funk tunes.
